US New 24k Gold Bullion Coin - appearance?
Just got my first one today in the mail, have a few more on the way.
What does everone think of the coins aesthetically? Mine was in the mylar and then tucked into a plastic sleeve. The mylar ripped through at one point, so it is not very protective at all. I personally do not find the coin anything special, for a 24k coin the lack of any effort to make it reflective in parts or polished makes it look as if it is alloyed with something. I think I am going back to my favorite kangaroos, and they come in a nice hard plastic cover. The kangaroo bullion look like proofs compared to the new US coin, since they are two-tone and highly reflective. |

Maybe we should just consider them as bullion coins with a recognizable image stamped upon them. With that said they should only trade close to the spot price of gold except for a small mintage and dealer's fee. Enough of trying to collect everything!

True, premiums need to come down for bullion. Krugs make the most sense in that regard but I have not bought any of them yet.
Will have to change that. |

I thought about proofs, but I am overweight in US dollars and just want to purchase as much weight as I can before the $ drops another 20%. I am sure you will be pleased. |
